The following resources are related to the police and to crime in general. Please also see the Nottinghamshire Police website for more information.

Reporting a Crime

Crimes should always be reported directly to the police. Emergencies should be reported by dialling 999, while 101 can be used for non-emergencies. More details can be found on the Nottinghamshire Police contact page.

Non-urgent matters can also be reported online using the online reporting page of the Nottinghamshire Police website.

Please also let us know about anything you report to the police using our report incidents/crimes page, so we can add it to our own crime and incidents log.

Reporting Antisocial Behaviour

Anti-social behaviour, which can cause harassment, harm, and stress — affecting not just individuals but also the wider community and environment — can be reported to the council using their Reporting Antisocial Behaviour page.

CCTV and Smart Doorbell Register

We have created a register of CCTV and smart (video) doorbells which allows us to quickly locate footage that could be useful in the event of an incident. Please use our CCTV and Smart Doorbell Register form to add your devices to our list.

Street Watch

Street Watch is a new initiative enabling residents to set up foot patrols in their local area. These patrol routes are shared with the police, and any intelligence gathered by Street Watch volunteers relating to crime is reported to the police once the patrol has completed. Patrols are carried out in pairs, full training will be given when you sign-up and members will be accompanied on their first walk by a neighbourhood officer.

Participants are required to volunteer two hours per month as part of their Street Watch role at a time convenient to them. The scheme is open to anyone aged 18. To learn more, please visit the Street Watch website, or email StreetWatch@notts.police.uk.

While the police are responsible for the scheme, we are keen to know who is involved in case we are asked about it, so please do let us know using our contact page if you decide to volunteer. We might also be able to help you find people to pair up with if you don’t know anyone who can accompany you.
