Ay-up neighbours! After what feels like months of plugging away, we’re now seeing some progress with the council when it comes to the rain gardens. They’re looking to work with us as a community to improve them and have made a bid for an internal grant to cover replanting, which we hope will be successful. Whatever the outcome, the gardens need clearing in readiness for the next steps. Judith Penney has kindly offered to lead the charge on getting them cleared out, but she needs your help. As this will be our first community-led gardening initiative, we’d like to arrange…
Ay-up neighbours! Wishing all our members on the Sherwood Dales very happy holi-Dales, and all the best for 2026. Thank you for your support and donations this year – we’re very much looking forward to putting more of our ideas into action next year! Tarrah for now, mi ducks! Ay-up neighbours! Thank you to everyone who attended our first Sherwood Dales Neighbourhood Watch and Community members’ meeting on Thursday 27th November. It was great to see over 60 neighbours in attendance and to have such lively discussions. We were pleased to welcome some new faces, hear new perspectives, and have Councillor Nayab Patel join us to speak and answer your questions. Below you’ll find the slides we presented on the night. One of the key messages we want to emphasise is that we aim to act in line with the majority view. We want our actions to reflect what…

Some options include: Please feel free to use your street-specific WhatsApp groups to coordinate drive sharing. We have also asked for the following three passageways on/into the estate to be cleared: We’ll update you if we receive any further information. Tarrah for now,…
Ay-up neighbours! Since our volunteers’ meeting back in July, we’ve been busy working on important setup tasks for our community – that’s why things have been a little quiet. We wanted to give you a quick update on what we’ve been working on, what we’ve achieved so far and what we have coming up. The (Boring) Paperwork and Admin Bit 😮💨 We were finding it difficult to attract grants, funding and donations (especially from our lovely community) without a bank account, but in order to get a bank account, we needed to set up as an official organisation. We’re therefore…
Ay-up neighbours! We wanted to give you all a quick update following our volunteers’ meeting at the end of July. Thanks once again to all who attended. Overall, the meeting was very positive. We identified a small number of priorities which we can start working on immediately, and generated lots of ideas we can explore as our group develops. In the short term the group will be focusing on the issue of weeds, speeding vehicles and better engagement with the council and police, led by our volunteers. If you would like anything else to be considered, please use our Request…
Hello Sherwood Dales residents! Firstly, thank you for your patience – it probably feels like a long time since you filled in your Sherwood Dales resident surveys! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been busy shaping our community and putting key things in place – including email groups, WhatsApp channels, and a Facebook group. We’ve also set up dedicated channels for our volunteers and are looking forward to meeting with them on Thursday 31st July to keep things moving forward. On that note, it’s not too late to volunteer – please get in touch using our contact form and we’ll…
